Increase Fuel Economy

Due to frequent increase of fuel price in the world market, increasing vehicle gas mileage is one the major targets of vehicle drivers today and for the coming years. There are a number of information available on the Internet that give ways on how to enhance gas economy. Choosing a fuel-efficient car or sport utility vehicle, keeping tires well inflated, using the right octane level for the vehicle, changing the oil on a specific time and lessening excess weight are just some of the various convenient and easy ways to gain improved fuel mileage.
However vehicle owners, more often than not, don’t realize that there are performance products available on many auto parts centers that are planned and manufactured to boost gas economy. By improving your diesel performance and power qualities, you can significantly enhance the fuel efficiency of your car. Diesel emissions and keeps oil cleaner longer, boosting power and performance and also prolonging the life of the engine! Here are some diesel performance products that can provide improved gas mileage: Air Intake Systems – Air filters as well as air intakes can enhance gas consumption by bringing sufficient amount of air into the internal-combustion engine. The dirt particles can be trapped inside the p assages and then eventually create obstruction, resulting to great airflow limit. And when this occurs, only a lesser amount of oxygen is available for ignition with fuel, thus resulting to poor performance.
However with the use of air filters, no more dirt that can stop the oxygen from going to the engine, thus producing better combustion. And this can result to improved gas mileage, and it can extend the longevity of your engine. On the other hand, the air intake kits are made to change the stock engine’s filter and air box. The kit can maximize air flow and allows the engine to breathe easier, thus producing more torque and horsepower. There are lots of brands of air intakes on the market today that give the same purpose which is to maximize air flow going to the engine for efficient fuel combustion. In addition, air intake products are available in different designs and configurations, and are constructed using rubber, metal, silicone and other composite materials. Exhaust Systems – If you think that exhaust kits can’t enhance fuel mileage, think again. Normally, stock exhausts with narrow pipes and stiff bends restrict the flow of gases coming out from the engine which lead to choking the engine. If this is the case, your vehicle will have poor combustion thus declining its performance and will have inefficient fuel utilization. However with use of after market exhaust systems, you can have a free flowing system where burnt gases from the engine will flow and quickly come out in the tailpipe, leaving no barriers to the passage. Proper flow of burnt gas promotes superb combustion which can lead to improved gas economy. Not to mention the intense torque and horsepower that your auto can have, making towing, hauling and climbing almost effortless. Several brands and models of exhaust kits are being offered today. Depending on the configuration of the system, an exhaust product may comprise of a cylinder head, exhaust manifold, turbocharger, catalytic converter and a free flowing muffler. Electronic Tuning Products – Re-programming your vehicle’s computer to optimize its performance based on your particular arrangements and mode of driving is also another method of obtaining improved gas mileage. As we all know that most stock vehicles are only tuned to accommodate average drivers in a wide array of conditions. So, if you want to manipulate your vehicle stock configurations to match your preference and driving needs, program tuners and electronic controllers are powerful solutions specifically for computer-controlled vehicles. Also, there are performance chips that are planned for maximum power and to give better fuel mileage than the stock tuning. Keep in mind that the mentioned auto parts above may enhance your gas economy. But still, the best practice is to run your auto more efficiently and keep it tuned accurately to save fuel on your everyday travel.
